Tribhuvan University was collaborating with Qinghai Minzu University (QMU) in Qinghai Province in China since the establishment of Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University (CI@TU) through tri-party agreement. To strengthen the collaboration further, a bilateral MoU between Tribhuvan University and QMU was signed on 5th November 2025 in Kathmandu. The MoU has been signed by Prof. Dr. Deepak Aryal, Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and Prof. Dr. Zhao Haixing, President of QMU.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Chen Yong (Deputy Director, Office of International Cooperation & Exchanges, East China University of Technology, ECUT), Prof. Liu Yanhong (Head, National Language Conservation and Promotion Center, School of Literature and Law, ECUT), Prof Zhao Yan (Deputy Director/Vice Dean, Foreign Affairs, Office/College of International Education, QMU) and Prof Sun Pu (Coordinator, Foreign Affairs Office/College of International Education, QMU). From the Tribhuvan University side, authorities present in the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Khadga KC (Rector), Prof. Dr. Kedar Rijal (Registrar), Prof. Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey (Executive Director, Centre for International Relations). Further, Director, Vice-Director and other officials from CI@TU also participated in the program.
The MoU opens up collaboration in the areas of scientific research cooperation, academic exchange, joint seminar, joint talent cultivation, and joint curricula development and resource sharing, among others.
