Tribhuvan University (TU) and Central University of Jammu (CUJammu) joined hands to organize a three-day (25-27 May, 2026) international conference “Climate Samvaad 2026: A stride Towards Climate Resilient Society”. The event was organized at CUJammu, India as the very first collaborative activity between the universities after they signed MoU in March 2026. Convened jointly by Dr. Shwetha Yadav, Associate Dean for International Affairs, CUJammu and Prof. Vishnu Prasad Pandey, Executive Director, Centre for International Relations, TU attracted a large number of experts and students from reputed institutes in India and Nepal. The inaugural session of the conference was graced by Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor of CUJammu and Prof. Deepak Aryal, Former Vice Chancellor, TU, among others.

During the inaugural session, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJammu, warmly welcomed the national and international delegates, setting an optimistic tone for the collaborative future. An incredible galaxy of subject experts, leading scientists, and academicians gathered in this Samvaad to deliver specialized lectures, panel insights, and keynotes. The technical sessions were anchored by high-caliber domain specialists, with inaugural lectures by Prof. Deepak Aryal, an authority on Himalayan meteorology, who set the scientific benchmark and Dr. Sudesh Yadav (Director, IHBT Palampur), providing deep insights into ecological adaptation and bio-resource management. Prof. Vishnu Prasad Pandey from TU delivered a keynote speech on Day-2 of the conference. In the sideline of the conference, the delegates from TU also visited CUJammu’s facilities, interacted with Dean’s of various schools, and also visited Himalayan High Altitude Atmospheric and Climate Research Centre (H2A2CR).
