Faculty of Law

Tribhuvan University (TU) was established in 1959. The Faculty of Law is one of its oldest faculties, originally founded in 1959 as the Institute of Law. Prior to this, the Law College had been established in 1954, offering LL.B. courses affiliated with Patna University, India. In 1972, the Institute of Law developed a two-year curriculum for the Certificate Level (CL) and a three-year curriculum for the Diploma in Law (DL). Following the creation of TU, the Law College was integrated into the university. The Institute of Law was officially renamed the Faculty of Law in 1974.
